An Epicurean Adventure Awaits on Amelia Island
The inaugural Amelia Island Dining Month kicks off at restaurants and eateries across the area, giving travelers another great reason to visit this fall.
The culinary adventure food lovers have been awaiting is just around the corner. Starting Sept. 1, the inaugural Amelia Island Dining Month will showcase a diverse array of gastronomic delights across this vibrant North Florida barrier island, offering diners an irresistible invitation to explore its flourishing food scene.
Amelia Island, long celebrated as a coastal haven offering the perfect blend of sun, sea and small-town charm, now adds a new layer of appeal with its dynamic culinary offerings. This September, 24 of the island’s most beloved restaurants will present prix-fixe dinners at either $35 or $55, providing a delectable snapshot of the destination’s rich and diverse culinary talents that stretch across its 13-mile expanse.
The participating establishments reflect the island’s multifaceted character, with options ranging from sophisticated fine dining to relaxed, beachside eateries. For a taste of authentic Italian cuisine, book a table at Cucina South, where diners can choose between a succulent filet or seafood lasagna as part of a three-course meal. If you’re in the mood for a more laid-back vibe, head to Salt Life Food Shack. Here, an eclectic, choose-your-own-adventure menu of fresh seafood culminates in a four-course dining experience that’s as vibrant as its beachfront location. For those seeking a luxurious dining experience, the AAA Five Diamond Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island offers two participating restaurants—Coast and Tidewater Grill. Both venues elevate the dining experience with a multi-course meal that begins with a welcome mocktail, expertly crafted by the house mixologist. But the culinary journey doesn’t end there; 20 other restaurants, including The Surf Restaurant, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls and Café Karibou, will also contribute to Amelia Island Dining Month, each offering a specially curated selection of chef-inspired courses.
Gil Langley, president of the Amelia Island Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, emphasizes that Dining Month is not just a feast for the palate, but also an opportunity to experience the full essence of Amelia Island while supporting the local community.
“With the introduction of Dining Month, we’re creating yet another reason to visit in September, one of the best times to enjoy Amelia Island’s wide-open beaches, fantastic weather and unique Florida charm,” Langley said. “There has never been a better time to discover the island’s highly regarded and surprisingly innovative dining scene, with the added benefit of supporting a worthwhile charity.”
Indeed, all participating restaurants have pledged to donate $1 from every order to the Barnabas Center, a local organization dedicated to enhancing the stability, health and well-being of Nassau County residents.
As Dining Month unfolds during what promises to be a beautiful September, visitors can look forward to experiencing Amelia Island’s natural splendor at its finest. The island’s long, pristine beaches, abundant wildlife and crystal-clear ocean waters have been the backdrop for postcard-perfect memories for generations—and this latest culinary showcase is set to add another unforgettable chapter to that story. Cheers to that!
