These Two Professional Partiers Are Raising the Bar (Car)
Event specialists Regard Libations and Betty Boujee are ready to spread some cheer across Florida.
The party started with a camel.
At a speakeasy-themed party in Jacksonville, two event masterminds took over the top to a
whole new level.
“We brought a camel to the party,” says Noi Amar, creative director and owner of Betty Boujee, a North Florida-based bespoke event planning and designing business. “Tommy’s party … it was insane.”
The 50th birthday celebration in question, planned and executed by Betty Boujee and Regard Libations a full-service event bartending company—was a bash straight out of Tommy McCollum’s wildest dreams. Classic cars lined the entryway, and Amar’s crown jewel, Betty the Boujee Cocktail Car, was the first thing to greet guests.
The 1973 Volkswagen Beetle-cum-chic mobile bar was decked out with custom acrylic party signage, a personalized cocktail menu. Experienced bartenders, courtesy of Regard Libations, kept the cocktails flowing. After grabbing a signature drink, like a Smokin’ Since ‘75 whiskey concoction with angostura bitters and smoked finish, revelers then walked past a champagne wall mounted with 12 white-gloved hands, each holding a glass of bubbly and pointing the way to the lavish backyard complete with a cigar lounge, chandelier adorned tents, a dance floor, a DJ, a curated speakeasy setup and a cornucopia of catered food. And then came the camel, which had been transported across the state from Miami.
“That was Tommy’s one request for his birthday,” Amar says. “He wanted to walk into his own party sitting on a camel.” She and Regard Libations owner Audrey Ancelin laugh as they reminisce on the crazy night.
“It was Noi’s masterpiece,” Ancelin says.
The two first joined forces a little over a year ago for a grand opening shindig or the Social Society, a party planning and events store (how fitting!) located in Ponte Vedra. Ancelin and her staff supplied partygoers with delicious light bites served on silver platters floating around the event, while Amar was stationed outside the storefront with her trusted Betty Bar Car, blanketed with bright flowers and surrounded by a flurry of guests. Ever since that night, Regard Libations x Betty Boujee began a partnership to elevate Florida’s event scene.
“It really was the perfect match,” Ancelin says. “It was like the puzzle piece in each of our businesses that needed to come together to meet needs, and now we can serve our clients better.”
Regard Libations offers bartenders, bar backs, cocktail ingredients, glassware rentals, dry goods—cups, napkins, straws, the like—and beverage services ranging from full-octane to zero-proof, including coffee or mocktails. Ancelin also specializes in offering hors d’oeuvres and other customizable party snacks, such as hummus and crudite cups, sliders and Caprese salad skewers. Regard Libations once organized a serve-yourself latke bar with four different topping combinations, per the client’s request. Betty Boujee fills in any missing pieces, bringing attention to detail that turns a run-of-the-mill soiree into an unforgettable celebration. Amar and her team of craftsmen meet with clients to discuss their ideas, create renderings and execute their visions. Both businesses have orchestrated large-scale experiences for corporate events, store openings, weddings and private parties, and are willing to travel across the state in a heartbeat.
“Any celebration is my favorite,” Ancelin says. “I’m honored to be responsible to ‘set the vibe’—every event is personal to me because it’s personal to them. It’s the best career ever.”
For Ancelin and Amar, their passion is beyond planning extravagant events—it’s setting the stage for clients to make memories and celebrate with their favorite people. As for Tommy’s 50th, the guests partied into the wee hours of the morning, ending with a grand splash.
“20 of them jumped into the pool at the end,” Amar laughs.
