The one thing that visitors to Martin County notice immediately is the region’s sheer beauty. Vast and largely untouched, the destination’s 22 miles of idyllic beaches with warm water are complemented with more than 100,000 acres of pristine parks and one of the most bio-diverse lagoon ecosystems in the Northern Hemisphere. Dining is a rich part of the cultural fabric of Martin County, which is known for its scenic al fresco options and array of culinary styles, from farm-to-table treats to international flavors and Floribbean creations. All served with a side of hometown hospitality and service, of course. 

Historic downtown Stuart is teeming with fabulous restaurants and cute cafés, tucked away between eclectic galleries and colorful boutiques. For an elevated meal, book a reservation at the Gafford, known for their fresh fish, exceptional meats and daily specials. This summer, when you purchase an entrée and cocktail, your second drink will be complementary when you mention “Discover Martin” to your server. 

Martin County didn’t forget its sweet tooth lovers. Kilwins, a venerable institution of confectionary favorites, is offering summer specials of buy-two-get-one free deals on its caramel corn and slices of homemade fudge at its Stuart location. The Lyric Theatre in Historic Downtown Stuart may have been built in the 1920s but it is one of the region’s leading cultural institutions for contemporary and dynamic live performances. The theater’s robust calendar of events includes classical plays, stand-up comedy specials, tribute concerts, dance recitals, movie screenings, and headline makers in the past have included Lily Tomlin, Jane Lynch and Bruce Hornsby. 

Pick up the perfect souvenir at the colorful shops that dot Stuart’s delightful downtown district. Gumbo Limbo Coastal Chic is a locally owned boutique with a dynamic collection of home accessories, unique gifts and fabulous finds. For water lovers, Treasure Coast Sailing Adventures invites travelers to embark on an unforgettable trip aboard one of its vessels along Martin County’s picturesque waterways.
